Treatment For Chronic Persistent Cough

Chronic cough may signal increased risk of COPD

Smokers who experience a persistent cough with phlegm are more likely to develop chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), researchers say. The results of a study of 5,000 participants indicated that anywhere from 35 percent to 50 percent of smokers will develop the disease. This is an increase, since previously researchers thought that 15 percent of smokers would develop COPD. Read more »
