Singulair may be a better treatment option in the long term

Easing asthma symptoms with an albuterol inhaler may not work over a long period of time, says Dr. Norma Nehren. Albuterol is intended as a rescue medication and over time a patient may become immune to the helpful effects of the drug. Dr. Nehren recommends that patients with chronic asthma switch to a preventive medication such as Singulair, Zyflo, or Xolair instead. Read more »
