Zileuton
Zileuton IV, an intravenous form of the drug Zyflo, has shown promising results in a new clinical trial for treating acute asthma attacks. Patients in the study who were dosed with the IV drug showed a greater improvement in breathing ability at 10-minute, 30-minute, and 60-minute intervals than those who took a placebo. Zileuton IV is being developed for use in emergency rooms and urgent care centers for patients who suffer acute asthma attacks.
