Acetaminophen could up asthma risk

Experts say that increasing levels of asthma worldwide could be linked to an increased use of the painkiller acetaminophen. In a review of 19 studies researchers found that people who regularly used the drug were 1.6 times more likely to develop asthma, while a study that looked at high doses of the painkiller found it could triple asthma risk. Experts say the drug appears to lowers levels of an antioxidant called glutathione that is found in lung tissue.
