Low Birth Weight May Affect Lung Health

Adults who were born weighing less than 5.5 pounds appear to be more likely to develop asthma later in life. A study of 627 Chinese men and women found that those who were least likely to develop the disease were born over 7 pounds. Researchers aren't sure what causes the link, but they say prematurity, poor maternal nutrition, and other factors could be a factor.
