Suzanne M. Jan de Beur, M.D., is associate professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, chief of the division of endocrinology at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, and associate program director, clinical research units, Johns Hopkins Institute for Clinical and Translational Research.
Dr. Jan de Beur received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University and her doctor of medicine from Weill Medical College of Cornell University in New York City. She trained in internal medicine on the Osler Medical Service at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and completed subspecialty training in endocrinology and metabolism at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Dr. Jan de Beur is an internationally recognized expert and leader in osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease. She brings this clinical perspective to her translational research. Dr. Jan de Beur is the associate editor for the Primer on the Metabolic Bone Diseases and Disorders of Mineral Metabolism and has authored numerous articles and book chapters. Her work has been published in leading journals, including The New England Journal of Medicine, the Journal of the American Medical Association, and The Lancet.
