    Dear Winston Smith,

I want to thank you for sharing your thoughts with the BipolarConnection community.  One of the great things about an online community like this, is that so many community members can related to exactly what you are describing.  I encourage you to continue to share your thoughts and read the shareposts of others.

    Best of Luck!

    Holly

I'm beginning to think Holly is a bot. A bot is a program that will post a generic blip to comments. Has anyone noticed this as well? Well this should cause some paranoid thoughts…nice touch from a wellness site.

    Hi Eric,

I want to let you know that Holly is not a "bot."  I am actually a real person who tries to provide constructive guidance to questions and encouragement or responses to other shareposts.  My job is not to provide professional advice so it is sometimes difficult to respond without sounding generic.  It is good for me to hear that they do in fact appear generic.  I will try and personalize them more in the future.

    Thank you for your feedback,

    Holly

It's nice to know you are actually a real person and want to offer words of encouragement.

This to me seems to be the generic post of a copy and past:

“I want to thank you for posting your comment on the BipolarConnection.  It sounds like you are coping with a difficult situation, but managing it well.  I encourage you to continue to use the HealthCentral community as a sounding board.  I am sure many of our community members can related to your situation.

    Best of Luck!

    -Holly”

You don’t need to have the illness to offer good advice or support. I have yet to see any expert weigh in on anything posted here, just everyday people offering some insight, support and guidance to make each and everyday a better one.

I’m glad you responded and look forward to future posts from you.

Thank you, Holly, for your kind response. I have suffered on and off (guess that's why they call it bipolar, eh?) for many year, and how I am feeling now I like to call "brain mush". It too shall pass. W.S.

p.s. anyone know who I am named after?

I wish I had something hugely profound to say in answer to your post; other than it touched the very core of my being. Recovering from my own alcoholism, coping with devasting physical chronic pain, still can't touch that feeling of "brain mush" as you describe it. With the willpower God gave us, or freedom of choice, we can accomplish our own small miracles, but when the mind refuses to cooperate, all can seem impossible. I know I'm just reiterating what you have stated, but thank you for for articulating your feelings so well, I feel less alone in this, and also more aware.  My guess is that you were named for Winston Churchill, a great man, and a great leader of men, in my opinion.  I hope I'm right.

Pauline, I posted back in Nov. 07, and you replied. I honestly can't remember if I responded? If I did, sorry, and if I didn't, well, sorry too.

Winston Smith is the main character in George Orwell's book 1984. If you haven't read it, I suggest that you do. It is a true classic.

Winston is basically a man who desires to escape a very structured, very cruel society, and the way he goes about it.

    Blessings,

    Winston,

Dont we all find or try to find a comfortable way to deal?Since we know we may not find the right rabbit hole to climb in , I dont find a moment when someone says you really have to do this to get healthy tha My BiPolar doesnt question me to death about it.I was told i need to change my schedule and i thought my brain would melt at the thoughts running around .Ohh and i havent changed it yet either.I dont know what to change yet.Anyway i do understand not trusting yourself. Hope you know you can pick others brains if nessary.
