Still Kickin'

Hi Y'all!

Sorry I haven't posted anything over the past few months (you probably didn't even notice). Well, right after christmas I had foot surgery, which laid me up for 6 weeks, and I'm still recovering. The first few days home were hell. I was taking Vicadin and, like a good boy, I followed the instructions exactly. Every 4 hours I would take one, and on, and on. I should have known better. A few months ago I was taking this for Shingles, and it has a tendency to build up in my system, and let loose all at once. The first time it caused me to see double. The second time I had really horrible dreams and hallucinations (to think I used to do that for fun).

Once I was finally feeling a little better, the eye doc scratched my cornea during an exam, and I had to wear a big contact around for a while uantil it healed.

Anyway, I'm back to stay. That is, until I have my left foot operated on also. I have DJD, and one by one, my joints acting up.

I had an interview with a professor from Notre dame yesterday (it's only 1 1/2 hours away) about pastors and their workplace. I mentioned my MI to him, and he is interested in doing another study about pastors with MI. I was really great to share openly and honestly for once. Wow, it sure felt good.

The man and woman who lost their house to fire (she set it) have just moved into their new house, built on the footprint of the other one. Insurance covered everything, including furnishings. Reason given was that she didn't set the fire for financial gain. She is still pretty sick, however, and can't be left alone. He is acared to death that she'll either do it again, kill herself or kill him. Pray that doesn't happen.

Ciao for niao,

Ah Winston.. it is good to see you back.

So sorry about foot and I can relate somewhat about the Vicodin...

Glad to hear about the couple with regard to the house and it is sad that the situation there is still so uncertain with her stability and security

good luck with the Notre Dame thing

keep us posted, huh?
