Maybe someone can help me understand something.  What is it with labeling people with Bipolar because someone acted a certain way.

I'm tired of hearing...so and so must be Bipolar...or does...so and so have Bipolar because they did this.

We have enough on our plates for being Bipolar and dealing with it on a daily basis.  Did the whole world suddenly turn Bipolar, or is it the New fashion this year.

Those of us with True Bipolar are getting a bad rap.  I'm truely sorry for those family members who are just learning that someone in their lives are Bipolar.  Give them time to turn their lives around.  Until we learn the correct diagnosis, it's hard to know whats wrong and what we can do to change.  Don't assume that we are cold heart and go out of our way to make everyone miserable.  Try to see it from our side of the fence.  You don't understand it all, well guess what....neither do we.

When we do start changing our lives, remember you have to do the same.  You have to get away from thinking what happened in the past is going to continue.  Stop waiting for the other shoe to Drop.  Everyone has to make changes, or no one will succeed.  We know what we put everyone through, but we went through it too.  We have the Guilt to live with everyday, don't keep shoving it in our faces.  Take our hands in yours and learn with us.  It can be a new exciting adventure for everyone.  Read and learn together and discover...OH thats why!!!  Take the time to go to therapy together, go to the doctors appointment together, learn about why they (we) are taking this med.  Learn how long it takes for the meds to start working, understand why the meds might need tobe changed, and why it didn't work.  Understand that even though we take our meds, that we can still go through depression and mania.  Just because we take meds..we should start being fat dump and happy for the rest of our lives.  Speaking of fat...understand that most meds out there cause weight gain...and dont expect us to be happy about it.

Sorry for carrying on....it's just that it Chaps my hide...maybe I'm looking at this all wrong, if I am someone please UnConfuse me please!

Bipolar, to me, has become the new "label" for everything even remotely considered mentally ill these days nonethewiser

pdocs and GPs just throw it about to anyone coming in the door... even those with just recurring major depression

any inappropriate behavior one deems inappropriate... any minor issue anyone wants to blow up to larger than life proportions...

you can take anyone off the street, talk to them for a while, ask them to if they have ever done such and such and such and I bet after a bit.. they'd be diagnosed with Bipolar as well cause you don't have to have every literal symptom to be diagnosed

and not every one with true Bipolar does or has every literal symptom and certainly not to the extreme as perhaps one or two others may seem to have but we... the entire population... are lumped into one sterotypical image of a Bipolar

and it is the new "catch phrase" by the way... so even it's seriousness is made fun of and parodied

that's just my opinion of the world at this moment... Yell
