Semiretired?

Sue...Semiretired. What a odd word when applied to people with mental health disabilities. It certainly does not apply to me or to those that I know. I'm sure there are some people that are "stuck" in an unhealthy mode and cannot seem to get out - those are the ones that especially need extensive recovery programs to help them along their way.
I consider myself a work in progress. You know the saying, "God isn't finished with me yet". That's true for many bipolars. There's always room for improvement, and we are the first to admit it.
With bipolar, sometimes I'm stuck in a gear, other times I'm full speed ahead; then I hit construction zones; sometimes I find dead ends or even road bumps; then theres U-turns, the occasional road block, and often abrupt stops. It's never just the red, yellow and green light if you're bipolar.
We are never semiretired, unless you count only periods of depression. I'd call that temporarily fully retired.
The web site (uspra) is interesting. They sure do a lot of good things for folks with disabilities.
