I hate computers.

By Charlotte'sWeb Tuesday, March 31, 2009

I work from home but my company gave me a modem/router instead of a hard drive. I am so ticked off that the company can't seem to put enough money into it's computer programs and servers. I was at my company before they used computers & boy some days I want to go back to that. This site is my favorite reason that we do have computers. Anyone else out there have a company that obviously cares more about their bottom line rather than ensuring their employees have a computer/programs that actually work all day? There are others at my workplace that do the same thing I do and they also have problems from time to time. Once I asked a VP "Each time we come up with new program are the "Remote Agents" considered in the planning?" Her answer was NO. It just seems that no matter what medication(s) I am on they don't do enough to curb my irritation over how intermittently my computer works. Any stress suggestions?

Thanks, I feel a bit better after venting.

Big bump in the road.....

Hi,

I am suppose to be trying train from home to do customer service. The software was crazy. I accidentally downloaded the manual on how to yesterday, apparently a week too late to mee my training deadline.

On a personal note I spent the weekend imputing data and worksheets onto my palm pilot for my medications and treatment. Guess what died this weekend. Yep, palmer is dead and no job to replace him.

I really do like tech. I think it's also a trigger for me when they get troublesome.

Most companies that issue computers for their at home employees do so in such a way that you are always working off their servers for storage. Why is that? Because by doing so, anything you work on is backed up in a number of places so that if a hard drive fails in one place...all the data is not lost. Also when working for a company...all the information and data belongs to said company.

In saying this, I would highly recommend not using the company computer for personal surfing of the web nor anything else. As an IT person...we set-up company servers log what each employee is doing at that PC and what times of day its being done. If your chatting, visiting sites that are not work related....its grounds for dismissal.

By your own computer to post here, chat or downland anything from the web...that will solve all the problems.
