Big bump in the road.....

By Charlotte'sWeb Monday, May 04, 2009

I found out that my company is eliminating my current job. It took me 29 years to find "my perfect job" within my company, Insurance Customer Service done from my home. After getting the news 4/29/09 I basically felt numb until Sunday. I am trying for another job within my company, but with being 49 and no college degree not sure I would even be offered another job. A small part of me wants to just take the severence package based on my 29 years with the company, which would be my regular salary for 06/09 to 06/10. But to do that would also require I look for another job and/or take payout of my retirement plan. I could be debt free if I did this but not having a regular salary scares me. On a plus side my husband has Health Partners HMO at his work so I wouldn't need to change my Pdoc/clinic. We all know the fear that can come with that change! I was so numb on Saturday that I did cutting. I really don't remember making a conscience decision to do it, I just did it. Currently my daughter is being treated for depression and anxiety and she did cutting a couple of times. Maybe I wanted to understand her more or I was just past my breaking point over loosing my job. Of course now I have to put up with the marks while applying for a new job. My hubby keeps reassuring me that we would be ok if I end up not finding another job. The bigest difference would be no eating out, movies or other fun spending we used to do with two incomes. Gotta love big companies sending work out of our country, which keeps eliminating jobs for hard working Americans.   Thanks for listening and anyone else tried cutting?

Just needed to share with others.

I don't cut so as to draw blood but I do press sharp objects into my skin just enough to hurt and leave a temporary mark (gone in a few hours). It's better not to cut, but if you have to cut, at least my method doesn't risk infection or permanent injury or leave a long-lasting mark. Do discuss your cutting with your pdoc, if you haven't already.
