We get badly hurt. We want retribution, we want vindication. It isn't going to happen. Instead, when the time is right, we need to forgive, if not face-to-face, then in our hearts. Then we can come to terms. Then we can move on.
I'll be the first to admit: the level of difficulty is incredibly high - for me and probably all of you. The topic came up in response to last week's sharepost on compassion. Readers here posted some very wise and insightful comments. Obviously, this topic warrants further consideration.
