On the Road: Live from Orlando

By John McManamy, Health Guide Wednesday, August 08, 2007
Monday I've been up since six in the morning, California time. Six or seven hours in the air and four hours in airports later, I walk out of the airport terminal in Orlando 30 minutes short of midnight into a steam heat that has sweat sluicing from every pore on my epidermis. Even my eyes ar...

I have to say John did a great job and both his sessions where full of practical insite and laughs.  What the heck - how can you not feed off his hypomanic spirit not to mention the energy of all the other folks with bipolar that are just plain having fun, learning and sharing stuff from all over the US and I heard some folks where from overseas.

I meet a man that I have to say I will not forget for a long time.  We had a blast checking out the fish in downtown disney and sucking down great fattening rootbeer floats and icecream.

I'll skip the rootbeer float since I already have a weight problem (@#$% meds) and the fact that my mouth continues to open as my elbow bends and puts food near my lips.

I'm on autopilot graze mode sometimes and my clothing size changes with my moods.  Depression I get almost totally inactive and gain and then when I am totally content with someone and find some since of peace in my mind and living condition I gain weight again.  No wonder 1 in 4 people with bipolar end up diabetic or with heart/blood conditions.  When the brain chemicals are right the body also suffers sometimes.

Now as far as the Rainforest cafe, I have lots of fish in my house and turtles- they never cease to amaze me and a guess they are there to ease my mind when I'm bed bound on the low bi-polar swing weeks.  So I'll always love watching and taking pictures of water life.

find peace in the fact you are not a fish in my aquariam - they are constantly trying the Nemo escape method and clogging filters.  count your little blessings
