Question of the Week: Voting
Our population is depressed way more than manic, which often translates into lack of motivation to do the simplest things. Such as vote. And because we don't strike fear into lawmakers the way other voting blocs do, we are - no surprise - at the very bottom of the appropriations food chain. The other day, I did my research and discovered that for every dollar the NIH spends per patient on HIV/AIDS research, we - the depression and bipolar population - get one penny. That's right one penny.
It would help if we could rally the troops the way other patient groups do, but before that happens we have to vote. No excuses. We have to vote. Election day is coming up. Question:
Are you going to vote?
