Doing New Things, Entertaining New Thoughts: The Bipolar Question of the Week
I like to think that part of our recovery has to do with engaging in things we never would have considered five or ten years ago. For instance, these days, I frequently find myself saying this:
“If you told me ten years ago I would be practicing the didgeridoo an hour a day, I would have said you were crazy.”
This year, my neurons have been playing ping-pong with the following thought: Should I get a tattoo?
Seriously, if you had mentioned that to me five years ago ...
Don’t worry, I’m not about to get a tattoo. Then again, who can say? It used to be that my chief concern had to do with what I would look like twenty years from now. But now I’m at that age where twenty years hence is just actuarial wishful thinking.
So maybe I will get that tattoo.
It’s been several months since I’ve done a Question of the Week. Why don’t I give you two:
What positive things are you doing now that you never would have dreamed of doing five or ten years ago?
Tattoo - yes or no?
