      hi I read your article and agree with the findings reported in 2002. Whereas I still do not like to refer to myself as bipolar, I finally found some sucess 2yrs. ago when my nurse practitioner started me on a combination of lithium and cymbalta. I have been treated now for recurrent depression since the age of 17. Every few years it seemed  I would be back( initially with only my Gp )for yet another shot at another drug because the previous one had stopped working. It has been a long journey but one I pray they contnue to research as you point out.
