I’m in a hotel room off of Times Square in New York. This is one of those Priceline deals that come with a catch. The price is reasonable, but the room is tiny, even by New York standards.
How small is the room? Even the insects have to slouch down and slink sideways. (Rimshot.)

Hi John!
I was doing some googling and came across your anecdote about stigma, which reminded me that the stigma problem is still raging. My book proposal on this issue received 21 no's from prospective publishers. And not long ago I asked Dr. David Miklowitz, who had just given a wow lecture at Beth Israel followed by a lively Q&A, what he thought we could do about stigma. His answer, which surprised me, was essentially "not much" and he advises keeping silent about one's own mental illness. I wouldn't like to be quoted verbatim on this, but there was absolutely no room for positive action in his reply.
Hope all is well with you,
Anne Sheffield
