Try this:

Close your eyes and relax. Think of someone you’re very fond of, say a loved one. Picture this individual in your mind. Contemplate for a minute or two on the warm feelings you have for this individual. Now contemplate someone neutral, say a casual acquaintance. Try to summon up the same warm feelings for this individual. Now contemplate someone who is really giving you a hard time. Again, try to summon up the same warm feelings.

Success or failure is not the issue. It’s all about what you get out of the exercise - you, a highly unique individual.

Question: Let us know what happened. What realizations, if any, did you come up with?
