Someone I am very close to is spending his Thanksgiving in a psychiatric unit. Yesterday, we didn't know where he was. A different hospital had released him to a city bus. I spent yesterday wondering whether the next phone call would mean I would be flying back east to attend his funeral. That's how my holidays are going.
Whether you are a patient of a family member, the holidays tend to pose special challenges for our population. A lot of you are sitting down to turkey dinner right now: Question:
What is going on with you this Thanksgiving weekend and how are you handling it?
No word limit. Go for it.
