prison and bi-polar

Mom needs help for son diagnosed with bi-polar Community Member February 07, 2009
  • Is there anyone out there who has had a family member or friend who was diagnosed with bi-polar and put in prison regardless? I think this is terrible. My son is sitting in prison regardless of the fact that he was diagnosed 4 months ago, and has done nothing wrong since he has been on medication for bi-polar. How can I help him. We only have a court appointed lawyer and can't afford anything more. It's sad that the poor end up in prison and the wealthy thata can afford a lawyer would probably get off. This is just not fair. Is there anyone in Massachusetts that can help me? I would give my life for my son.

We dont have money for a attorney or 10k for bond or 1000 for the 10%.  He does not have until Sept 8 of 09 I fear can someone PLEASE read this in colorado and help us do something fast!!

when he gets out of jail you can try and get him to a doctor so he gets on some meds , maybe that will help so he dont get thrown in jail again.

    So...

I guess I don't understand the question or need exactly.

Your son is sitting in jail in Mass. for a crime he has been charged with.

    Is it that

Since he went into the jail, he has been evaluated as having Bipolar (after being jailed while as an inmate)?

    or

He was diagnosed as having Bipolar and then afterwards, supposedly...
