Do You Have a Blog?

By tls Sunday, April 26, 2009

If you have a blog please share - I love reading blogs of which I can relate.  Why do you write and what does it do for you?  I'm just interested is all.

I noticed a few of my soul mates in mental illness have a blog.  I find my blog a wonderful way to just talk about what I'm doing, feeling, thinking.  I don't even care if it is never read by a single other person.  Actually, I hope no one reads it.  I tried keeping a journal but I am not consistent enough in my life to stick with it and then I lose it or whatever.  In addition, my hands hurt terribly if I try to write for too long.  My blog is always there but is not putting any pressure on me to check in daily.  I am certain that a paper journal is always reprimanding me to write something because I'm "supposed" to.  I hate having to do something because I'm told to do so until I make up my mind to do it and then prove it is beneficial or not.  I like to do things because they make me feel better.  Walking makes me feel better so I do it.  Working at the gym makes me feel better so I do that too.  Taking my meds (most of the time) makes me feel better so I do that too.  Unfortunately, I'm not going to bed at a decent hour and so I'm not feeling the best I can - but at least I know that, right.

I don't have a blog at this time, but thanks for asking.

Writing indeed is such a great creative outlet and I find some of our best knowledge (not to mention validation) comes from hearing other people's stories.  Good luck in your continued endeavors.

Nice to hear another enjoys writing as much as I ....I utilize it all the time through blogs, and journals of various topics....one of which is just free style writing, but like you there are times that i just can't write....my husband bought me a voice recorder for those times that I am tactile or can't really tame the mania enough to write, but it is amazing to look back and see the variety of pressure you put on the paper when writing, or the change in penmanship from mood to mood, and such things as that and very therapeutic to me to see and keep in mind my triggers....I also use photography to capture things that a lot don't notice..for i feel bps are very intensly aware of details others seem to miss, and reading the bible and books even if just a bit on days of concentration lacking tehee...but still i read a bit anyway to keep at it. Keep using you coping skills and here are my blog sites...Let me know what ya think!!
I have older posts off to the right above the pics that you will find if interested

(i had a whole post to you and it didn't take so hoping this isn't a repeat but have dial up and not sure that the other took for it gave me a protocol error so forgive if repeat!)

well, here they are and GREAT messaging ya for the first time, NICE TO MEET YOU and glad to hear another is writing too!!!
