I am dreading tomorrow

By Michele Friday, April 04, 2008

Hi,

I am Michele, and I live in the UK.  I am going through a dreadful low at the moment, I live day by day, and can't seem to get out of this dreadful darkness.  I see a Pshciatrist here at my local Mental Health Centre, but that is every six weeks.  Excuse my spelling.  I am reaching out for a hand to hold right now, please, get in touch xxxxxx

Do you, by chance, have a therapist?  You said you don't see a psychiatrist but once every 6 weeks and that sure is a long ways to go in between appointments.  I recently went about 4 weeks in between 2 different docs and I was in a deep dark place so, I know that is a long wait.

I know you guys (U.K.) have a National Health Plan thing - will it, or does it, allow you to see a psychotherapist?  Just thinking you could see one in between visits with the doc.

Hi Michele,

Just a suggestion based on my own experience.   I got into therapy and a group as soon as possible after my last major depression.   It took some time for the darkness to lighten, but one on one with the therapist and regular small group sessions helped me to move to a more managable grey area.  I also am limited to psychiatrist visits about 6 weeks apart and extremely short.   I'll reach to you and tell you that you need more interaction (in my opinion) and therapy and group meetings may not be the total answer but help more than you can ever imagine.

HI MICHELE MY OLDER SISTER SPELLS HER NAME THE SAME WAY YOU DO. THE FIRST THING I CAN THINK OF IS GO TAKE A WALK, IT WILL RELEASE YOUR NATURAL SERATONIN (THE HAPPY DRUG YOUR BODY MAKES). WHAT DO YOU FEEL DARK ABOUT? SOMETIMES WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUL BATTLE AND WHEN I FEEL THAT WAY I SAY OUTLOUD, SATAN GET AWAY FROM ME IN THE NAME OF JESUS! TRY IT WITH FAITH IT DOES WORK. I HOPE YOU CAN GET THE RIGHT MEDACINE FOR YOUR ILLNESS FOR NOW PRAY HARD.

GOD BLESS YOU MICHELE.Big Grin

We are good at holding hands. We hold each others' hands through the bad times and share the good times. I just wanted you to know I read your post and will check back on you. Hope tomorrow is a better day than today. The storm will pass and you will feel better, maybe not tomorrow but the next day. As Tabby said...try to get back to the doc. Sometimes it takes a while to get the medication right. Take care. Rusty
