drug company does not want to help

By jakeg Wednesday, July 21, 2010

I can only pray that the doctor can get me some samples of this popular anti psychotic medication that i have been on for six month.

my insurance will not pay any more. this company promised to ship some of the medication to the doctor over night fed ex now today they went back on the promise.

That really bites

Never heard of an insurance company denying meds.  Thought they just softly steer you to generics and that-was-that.

I'm praying for you, that things work out.

You did not say exactly what happened but I am going to gather a guess here:

okay... so, your insurance company denied the authorization for them (insurance company) to make a payment on your behalf to offset the costs of your medication.  in doing so, the pharmacy dispensing the medication did not authorize shipment because no one paid the bill.  right?

if this is the case, then someone needs to contact the mail order pharmacy and pay the bill to have the meds shipped to you OR your doctor needs to call the pharmaceutical rep that comes to his/her office and ask them to bring him/her some samples.

if this does not happen, the doc then needs to perhaps switch you to something less costly and/or generic

or, you'll need to pay for the medication you are seeking out of pocket

1st thing though would be to call your doc's office and inform them right away what happened.  This to not only check to see if they have any samples but to also have the doc's office call your insurance company and fight it out with them over the authorization process.
