We read so much here about Bipolar Disorder, the questions, the share posts, some upbeat, some of crisis and some informative.  I thought I would share a selection of some of my poems.  Oh, you may see the influence of mood in some but they depart from the usual topic and are easy reads.  I hope the top of this post is not full of html.  Ignore it if it is there.

If you would like to share your poetry, feel free to do so.  Poetry and other forms of creative art carry with them a glimpse of the artist, they are inseperable; the actor and act, the music and composer, the poem and bard are all intertwined.

Desert Refuge

It is dark and desolate;

this arid landscape

flowing from rock and adobe

hiding in slivered shadows

of moonlight glancing off--

precipices. This empty solitude,

desert refuge from the world,

where soft shadows play,

flit in silver light,

like a presence archaic.

The scent of creosote and sparse sage

drifts in as an ancient voice,

painting gentler times

in duet with a coyotes' chorus,

melodic measures of lunar laughter.

Saguaros stand guard below,

arms up in mock surrender

to their random isolation

in likeness to the solitude,

desert refuge, of my mind.

Blue Pane

i see blue

and it pains me too

guess it may be a certain

point of view

it's a melancholic sunset

the surface shimmer on the sea

the color of truth to me

the sad impression

and dread depression

feels blue

inside my veins

often pain is not so true

just mundane

and blue blue

thinking about the dark untrue

those lost to you

it does not matter

what you're going through

you see blackness

i see blue

true blue

The Noxious Weed

One day's dawn, when mist hovered in the air,
A dewdrop fell on Sapling growing there.
Upon the dim, damp, sparse rainforest floor

He tried his voice and squeaked, "Please I need no more."

From above the canopy came a reply.
"Sorry for the tear, something's made me cry.
I did not mean to wake you, my child dear.
Please listen, for our safety and lives I fear."

"From the edges of the over story
Comes a frightful, rumored allegory,

About a fearless, spreading noxious weed
Which claims the land to meet it's every need."

The sky heard those words whispered on the wind,
With a cloud parting smile, sadly grinned.
"It's true, I've spied its sprawl across the plain
With foul fumes adrift, my clouds cry acid rain."

The sea not calm, beneath all the clamor,
Sprayed verbiage in a wavering stammer,
"The shores not bounds for this weed amoral,
