My 17 year old daughter has just been diagnosed with bipolar and I am just not sure it is right. I need some input from other parents on how their child was diagnosed

My 17 year old daughter was diagnosed with bipolar 6 months ago. Her diagnosis came while she was hospitalized during what I now know to be a manic episode.
