the bipolar condition, autism, psychiatric service dogs
I am a published poet (and editor). Although recently diagnosed, I believe that I have had this condition all my life. I am grateful that I was not diagnosed earlier. My body cannot tolerate any of the meds. I just got off Lithium due to kidney problems and am allergic to lamotrigine. I am now refusing the atypicals, and I no longer use the words "illness" or "disorder" to describe this common human condition. I think cognitive behavioral therapy is working for me. I need a service dog and a voice coach, but I can't take these so called medicines. My doctor is wonderful. I urge everyone to try the nearest medical school for the best help.
