Hmm, I'm noticing that, too!

Saturday, June 07, 2008 at 01:44 AMMaybe that's why I feel worse tonight than I have in a long time. Thinking about the past more than I have in so long, getting all worked up about things that normally don't bother me. The temperature is creeping up and the humidity is, too. It jogs my memory that my therapist said that a lot of her bipolar clients complain of the same thing. Arggh. No wonder I'm always dreaming of living in places like San Francisco.

It's been so hot, ad humid here for a few days now, and I can't get this silly camp, or girls scout song out of my head. I'm not sure I'm even remembering the words correctly, but it's driving me crazy. Maybe it's bringin up past memories also. I go through these periods of time when I think about the past alot more than others too, I know how you feel!!

Tuesday, August 05, 2008 at 11:25 AMHello there,
Just thought i'd let ya know you aren't alone, many have issues during the winter, but being more on the manic side the snow SOOTHES me beyond words and i LOVE LOVE IT, until get a little antsy around March waiting for spring and all that needs to be done before summer heat stifles me...and that is what it does, i literally have have HAVE to come inside during the peak hot hours and the humidity really really plays havoc on my rapid cycling and makes me so irritable even when in mixed mood stage and sad or depressed inside, well the heat overcometh and makes me literally vicious in my head but have learned to get OUT of it and get inside during those peak hours....it can LITERALLY react with your medication, i know that theones i'm on have WARNINGS about the heat (for some don't let you sweat and get the heat out of you therefore risk of heat stroke and so forth, check out your meds and see if that is part of it too, but regardless no matter what meds i've been on the heat makes me soooo much worse feeling...) So with you there!!!
Hope you have air conditioning to keep you cool during those hours, but oh aren't the cool summer eveings awesome, i limit and plan my day (oh pitiful but have to or else get worse) around early morning (don't sleep much anyway have literally started working outside at crack of dawn to weed my flowers or just walk) and early evening after sun has passed its peak. That humidity and the PRESSURE FRONTS are my enemy....have learned that one the HARD way....literally ....
well, stay outta the heat if can yet remember this is the month of the falling stars (really meteorites) and the evenings are cool so good time to chillax even though like you heat affects me the night fresh air revives and to see those stars is awesome, a good coping skill for me anyway...just a thought !!!
hope you feel better and hoping NO INDIAN SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!hang tough and stay cool!! (a friend of mine gave me a device that looks like a neck wrap and inside are beads that swell when soaked in water and keeps you cool...it helps a LOT but still can't take that afternoon heat) don't feel odd...i too LOVE the winter and the coolness and YES can add more clothes but can only take off so much (i might scare someone teheee)
take care friend and stay COOOOOOOOLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi DC.......It's interesting how the weather affects bipolars in different ways. Seasonal affective disorder is certainly problematic for many of us.
I have some difficulty when winter persists, as it often does here in the midwest. Gloomy days in Jan/Feb are the worst for me. I am considering a light box next winter.
A friend of mine has difficulty, like you, when the hot weather arrives. She is a winter person - must be an eskimo or two in her ancestry.
