Geodon/tiredness

By cg73 Monday, December 03, 2007

I already got some advice from a journal entry on this topic, but thought I'd try a question to see if there's any more info out there:

I am often SO tired.  Not just drowsy, but lethargic and barely conscious.  I take 80mg in am with a bowl of cereal, then have a diet pepsi.  The tiredness kicks in just in time for my drive to work (real safe).  I have a hard time again in the mid-afternoon.

Has anyone had any luck overcoming this side effect?

about fed up (whining and complaining)

How long have you been taking the geoden? It normally takes a month or two to really have you body get used to it. If it was me and really bothersome, I would be sitting in front of my psychiatrist explaining what’s going on and how it is affecting your ability to drive and function.

I've been up at the full dose for about a month, I guess.  I have talked to the doc face-to-face AND called.  He just says to keep taking it and to make sure to eat with it.  I guess it's a waiting game :o(

I took Geodon for 4 months and never did get rid of the tiredness.  I would take it at night , after my psychitrist okay'd it and it was better, but i still felt grogy from it.  The only reason i stopped taking it was because i became pregnant.  i just kept waiting for the side-effect to go away.  It did after we stopped it. Talk to you doctor maybe it would work  better for you to take it at night.

                                            good luck
