Hopeful mom
Thursday, December 20, 2007 at 09:07 PMHis diet is horrible but I give him ensure a couple of times a day and a multivitamin in addition to the Omega 3 and the meds. He runs around with the dogs which tires him out and gives him good physical activity that helps reduce his stress.
I also make sure he goes to bed at a reasonable time every night because getting the proper amount of sleep seems to help his general mood.

Friday, December 21, 2007 at 03:40 PMYou and your family need fresh vegetables if possible if not then frozen. then fresh fruit not canned for they have least amout of good. Then eat grass-feed meats which cost more but their is a balance there that few know about.
You also need time out. You need to take a walk for you shall be restored in this valley of darkness where you are. There is hope ask those who have gone before you. Go to the Library and look at Nutrition and cooking with Herbs and eating nuts. There is help out there.

Fish Oil
Stardust
Friday, December 21, 2007 at 08:15 PMMaybe you're game will get better, too, Rusty! I've been taking fish oil for years. Take it at night. If I take them during the day, a burp can really gross me out! I know salmon oil is better than fish oil, but I can't remember why. It is much more expensive, so I stick with the plain old fish oil.

I've had my son on them for about a month. We are seeing improvement but I don't know if we can attribute it to the supplement or the meds. I'm not willing to risk taking him off meds at this point, but feel the supplement can't hurt him either way.
I'm glad you're doing better.
