A PATTERN EMERGES!

By Andrew Mura Sunday, November 04, 2007
I just noticed that all of the recent posts on  Living with it/questions are all about the same thing... I wonder if anyone has any info on whether thess moodstate changes are SEASONAL in nature? I know that winter allways makes me depressed, but maybe the Fall shif coul trigger mania? I m I totally of the mark?
Looking for people to share my music about my experince with bipolar. hoping for feedback.

...it is possible that SAS (seasonal affective disorder) is a part of or a trigger point for bp's, i DO NOT KNOW for sure at ALL...

but i know the research that i've done says that they are seriously looking into how seasons affect bipolar patients.
Personally I can't TAKE THE HEAT!!Furious at ALL!!! I can do things in early morning or late evening but the afternoon will send me just whirling,Cheesy not sure if meds or if bp but i KNOW the heat affects me WORSE..

Cold weather affects me greatly too but just not as bad, it for me is more the temperature thing or pressure system...

I LOVE winter too, could be an issueHappy...but with the other physical illnesses i have i know that simple PRESSURE SYSTEMS moving in and out of our area (appalachia so there are manyOh my!Pinch) can affect how I feel not only physically but mentally as well....

so I too wonder...there is someone on here who could answer for sure...the area that says ask the experts....and there is another new area too...(geez, can't remember the name argh)Blush

But try those areas and I've always gotten many responses and ideas, answers to things like this especially!!
Sorry i couldn't help more...MY OPINION>>>YES it affects us somehow, I mean even the full moon affects "normal persay" people for sure (when teaching did a LOT LOT Of research on the lunar affects on humans, taught science)..., so you know somehow the weather would have to also affect us.Blink..i know hot dry, humid, relentless summer is irritating and makes me very very edgey...so let me know what you find!!
Sincerely,

ctrygirl

...or maybe not.  I've had several major depressive episodes as part of my BPD.  2 were in winter, 2 in summer, and now 1 in fall.

I think, in general, studies have shown that depression is worse when the days are shorter (and suicide rates go up around the holidays).
