Hi everyone,
Sorry to have not posted in a while. September is a very hard month for me, and from what my psychiatrist tells me, a hard month for many of us with bipolar disorder -- the changes in weather, season, time, routines -- can upset our equilibrium. Anyway, I am coping. My mom called to tell me that she watched an Oprah Winfrey show on bipolar disorder. Guests included Kate Jamison, an actor from General Hospital, and a comedian.

I think Oprah has always been great for bringing public attention and individual humanity to difficult topics like mental illness, abuse, and other life challenges. Obviously, the show can't cover everything, but does bring a human face and voice. Even if your friends or family are already aware of bipolar disorder, perhaps they can benefit from hearing other perspectivess and learning more.
Namaste,
Polarimbi
