Ouch...Risperdal's Lesson Learned

By Purple Flamingo Monday, March 01, 2010

Ugh.  I feel sooooo bad right now.  Last night, I decided to stay up past my med time to watch a movie.  Took meds, fought the sleepiness, nothing happened (good movie).  About four hours after my med time, trouble began.  I started getting a pain in my neck, causing a headach (which I still have).  I felt my chest get sore as if someone had pelted me with large rocks.  And then, It hit.

Remember the adolescent growing pains, where it felt like your bones and muscles were so sore and uncomfortable you thought you would surely bruise?  And all the otc pain meds weren't working?  And sometimes it hurt so bad, you wanted to cry?  Yeah.... it was like that ALL Over my body.  My legs and joints hurt so much; it was at that point that I struggled to go to sleep to escape the crushing pain.  I slept with a heating pad on my chest just to settle down.  My neck was stiff, and still hurts now.

I remember waking up the last few nights with a mild headache and stiff neck.  But I thought it was because of my unwelcomed bed buddy (my daughter fell asleep).  I had an uncomfortable backache as well- again contributing it to my daughter's tossing and turning.  Nope.  Pain is still here.  Hopefully, a little otc med will help with this.

Lesson learned; take your med, go to bed.  Stick with the curfew

Is that supposed to happen? I would think that a little variance on meds wouldn't make that drastic of a difference...

I took my meds 3 hours later than normal on Saturday because we hosted our card group. So instead of 10, I took them at 1 am. I was more tired than normal yesterday but that's it.

I hope that you feel better soon...

God's Blessings,

Shelly

on Seroquel, I had neck rigidity and leg muscle pain most dire... along with a mild annoying headache and a low grade unknown origin temperature for about 4 days

went to doc and she said it was an adverse reaction to Seroquel and had me quit taking it

might want to give your pdoc a call

it should not be causing such pain

less it is the flu and not the Risperdal

still.... best to run it by your pdoc
