Seeking Freedom

By dahawkk Monday, December 08, 2008

I went through bipolar disorder. I was a bi-polar 1 case, complete with a very destructive manic phase.

I then went through years of torment and torture, as often happens, a deep, dark depression followed.

Praise the Lord, though, after trying all the tricks in the world, I finally came back to Jesus just two years ago. I haven't sought treatment from the medical community for three years now and that was the best choice I could have made, because they only told me to keep up the meds, even though I shook while on them, and everything was foggy and tasteless.

I only entered this Website because I'm researching the bi-polar community to see what they are looking to today. I believe in medication for the manic phase, but that's not the answer, it's only a stabilizer. Many doctors will treat it as if its the answer, and their patients keep on being depressed.

Look to God for answers. I'm gathering this info for a blog I've just started and then a book, soon to follow, sharing my testimony and hopefully helping others.

let us thank him for there actually being a wide range of medications that can be used to treat bipolar. im glad god has helped you to stabilize but for many of us god is simply not enough and need medications to properly function in this world. i hope your book you plan on writing is not going to be so biased as to lecture people how medication is only good for mania. god can help us in many spectrums of life but unfortunately all the prayers in the world will not help as much as a steady dose of lithium. god bless

If the warm-fuzzies work for you great. But please keep it to yourself. I for one am a DEVOUT atheist. Religion is simply a "pyramid club" where those at the top invent and re-invent and distort information to CONTROL the masses.

jesus was a nice guy. That's IT.

I gave up on the god thing years ago, funny I still pray to st anthony to find lost articles.. its not divine intervention,..it a left over from my "faithfilled" days gone by, and is merely my memory's way of being triggered to unlock.

So thats my turn I get when bible thumpers get their time in. Dont pray for me ok???I dont give you permission to.

Stay on your meds folks. ( religous zealotness is a symptom of mania) but good luck (aint no thing as luck either) with your research.

I think finding religon is great. I am not manic 99.9% of the time so therefore being relgious can not be blamed by maina. As far as your atheist views maybe you should keep those to yourself as well. Something tells me when in a life or death situation you will be on your news praying to god to save you.
