It doesn't get any easier

By alxv Sunday, October 23, 2011

I'm now 43 years old going to be 44 in 2 months and it doesn't get any better with age, on the contrary...
I started a course last month and it's another battle to memorise all the things I need.

It's very hard to be stable emotionally and that's why I decided to dedicate myself only to this course and to move on with my life since I've lost 8 years of my life being very sick before I got diagnosed with bipolar type 2.

One thing was very hard for me to decide is that I can't get into any intimate relationships romantic or just friendships because it makes me even more emotionally unstable which is the base of this illness.

I think by simplifying my life I can coupe better daily with this disorder.

I am 39 and also have bpII.  It sucks to try and do school because of concentration and understanding what I would read.  Just don't give up.  You can do it.  Day by day.

Thank you so much for your support. I sure hope soon you and I will get to the end of our studies as winners! Good luck to you too, stay in touch.

I had to make the same choices, no relationships, no close friendships because they just caused my moods to swing even more than my moods already did.  It is working out.   I am more stable.  I also had to have a routine that i kept to daily and though it sounds boring I have been base line for 4 months running and hope to continue to be so for a long time.  Good luck to you.

It's the most difficult choice I had to make but it's the only way for me control my well-being.

Good luck to you too. Stay in touch

hi guys....i am starting to do exactly what you are doing.....starting a daily routine.  can't say i always stick to it, but that structure is good.  i do daily prayer, affirmations, a thought for the day, mood monitoring and journaling.  hopefully i can keep this up when i get back to a job.  i had to quit school because i just couldn't handle it.  so kudos to you alex for continuing on.  my best to both of you.  :)

my friend alxv

so good to "see" you again and I'm sorry you are having such a struggle

such is the way of Bipolar, isn't it?

the need to stay mentally and emotionally balanced is a hard one to fill

sometimes it does mean cutting toxic folks out of one's life

sometimes it does mean cutting back on things we enjoy that in hindsight are adding to the stress and chaos

sometimes it is recognizing that we need to just have some breathing space from everyone and everything for a wee bit till we get our bearings back

or our "lights" back online

I am very glad to "see" you though.. it has been awhile.

Hi tabby!!

Same here, I am very happy to hear from you again! You are very special and very wise about life and dealing with this disorder.

It's always a pleasure to read you, it's fresh air to our brains LOL

I don't come here so often because as you know it's not easy to deal with so much stuff and still read very hard posts I just don't know what to say most of the times. I want to be helpful but just don't know what to say to take the pain away from those with bigger problems than I have.

I hope you are doing ok and always know that you can count on me.

take care Tabby, really good to hear from you again!Smile
