I think my dad is suffering from bipolar mania and he is very stubborn and angry and will not go and get help and I don't know how to get him to go and get the help he needs. I was thinking intervention but I just don't know. If anyone has any kind of advice for me please e-mail me at mindynnick_@hotmail.com
Thank you

I was diagnosed as Bipolar 1 some year back now and admittedly had mood swings that would make a roller coaster look like a flat lander.  I have a wondeful psychaitrist and a therapist I saw weekly ofr about 13 yrs.  I was on so many antideppresants and antipsychotics but nothing really helped forever.  A couple of things happened in th epast yr.  One being I was placed on a regimine of Deplin and I got involved in a neighborhood Bible study and got more in touch with my own spirituality.  Presently my Dr can not believe my progress he says he is so impressed when I go for a visit.  I have dropped all drugs and said goodby to my therapist and remain very stable.  I do not know if it is a fluke or if I will remain free of symptoms forever so I see my dr regularily just incase but he sees me very stable and in great health.  I am losing weight and eating better and my over all health continues to improve.  I am wondering if you have seen cases in which patients have complerely recovered and never have had episodes again?  If it is just a gift then so be it but it has been a great time.
