My daughter was told that she has to leave her theraputic HS boarding school and find another one, just 6 months from graduation. They say that they cannnot garrantee her safety. None the less to say, this hasn't made her feel any better. She was doing better with her grades and everything else. I feel like we are being punished for something. Anyone know of a good HS boarding school in NY for someone who is depressed. She is 18, has passed all her regents. I would appreciate any suggestions, please!
What do they mean when they are saying they can't guarantee her safety? Is she suicidal? If not I would pressure my daughter and the school to at least finish out the last 6 months until graduation.
You could look into home schooling and a tutor at the house as a possibility if the above doesn't work. I would also bring in NAMI in on this one and have one of their people offer you some great advice.
