I arrived at the Social Security Office at 10:00 a.m. this morning. You know the drill, take a number, did that, went to window, did that, then wait for your name to be called. Well, one hour passed, two hours passed, three hours pased, four hours pased, five hours passed. Now starting on the sixth hour. I was finally called in after the Security Guard went inside to ask why I was still out in the waiting area. Finally called in. The SS worker remembered me from a year ago. I told her what happened and she went to get the supervisor so I could make a complaint. I made one without raising my voice. While I was sitting and waiting I had no lunch, had no klonopon with me as I thought this would take at the most two hours. I really wanted to rip someones head off for the long wait. Instead I used the skills that I have been taught. I meditated, breathing exercises, many, many times and I stayed calm. Actually shocked that I was able to do this. I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. And it is the last time I have to go to SS for quite a while as my disability checks will be starting within 30 to 90 days. Just thought I would share.

I am happy for you. It is nice to feel accomplishment when dealing with our illness. It makes you feel as if there is hope for your life. I have to give you credit for not tearing someones head off after all those hours.
Good for you! There is hope for all of us. I have been having a difficult time for a few months and this reminds me to use all the tools that I have been taught. Thanks for helping me.
Take care, Lori
I am glad this helped you. Trust me, in my mind I was ripping off heads, arms, legs, but knew I had to stay calm. This was the longest I have had to go waiting, etc. Since I made it though this irritating challenge, hopefully next time I will remember and use the same techniques.
Have a good day!
