Lack of response tells me either nobody gives a sheeiit or worse it will turn me into a fat #ss.  Wasn't going to take it anyway.

Hello,

I read both of your posts, and I didn't reply to it because I have never taken that med before so I couldn't answer your question or be of any help in that area, but I did just want to reply to let you know that had I had any knowledge of it, I would have gladly replied to you.  I understand how you feel about not getting a reply.  I have had my feelings hurt too, so I just wanted to let you know that some people do care and want to help if at all possible like me. you asked about whether Lithium and Abilify and Klonopin together will cause you to gain weight?

So... you are more concerned about getting fat rather than making your mood swings perhaps more tolerable and then you stated you weren't going to take the meds anyway

Many of the known psych meds have an adverse side effect of potential weight gain.  Many folks will gain weight while taking them.

Guess what?

Many folks will NOT gain weight from taking them or gain only a minimal amount.

So, it's like a crap shoot really.

There are meds known to be weight neutral that supposedly a larger number of folks taking them found no weight gain or very minimal weight gain.

Does not mean that one will not take them and not gain 40 pounds, it's possible... it's also possible one will not gain a pound or only 5-15 while on the supposed weight neutral ones.

If you are that concerned... ask your psychiatrist or prescribing physician.  They feel you need the meds and that the adverse possible side effects do not outweight the potential for the benefits of the said meds they've prescribed.  If you are that concerned... you can always ask for another med or meds.  There are many many many meds out there.
