I have a 16 year old daughter with bipolar. We have been through a million med changes. Most recent Lithum. Can others share their experiences with this drug.

When i was first dignosed with bipolar the first medication i was put on was lithium. At first i found that it helped my hympomanic episodes they where not so bad as they use to be. This was not an over night thing it did take time. I was on the the liquid form which works quicker then the tablet form. I had no side affects at all. However after 5 months on lithium i become allergic to it and had to come off it. Most people are allergic to lithium. But then some people are on it for years ond years and never have any problems with it.
