Need help climbing out of this hole I'm in.

By Begging4Friends Tuesday, January 12, 2010

I'm so tired of being depressed.  I just can't cope anymore.  I can't get the meds I need.  Insurance doesn't cover them and I would have to be a millionaire to be able to pay for them.  I've applied for help with no answers.  I need the meds now!  I'm so tired of crying and hating myself.  I just want to find a way out.

It seems like you can't take anymore, that there is no use in going on.  There is, for yourself.  You are important.

Talk to your kids and see if you can mend fences with them.  You may be able to talk it out.  Do your kids have information on your bi polar?  Have you ever tried to sit down and talk to them about what you are going through?  These seem like alot of questions, but they are valid questions.  As long as you are doing everything you can think of to fix things, whether or not they want to fix their relationship with you is there choice.

I understand the medicine situation also.  I have no insurance myself.  I am lucky enough to have a great mental health system in my county where I live.  They help me get my medicine through the Precription program.  I also see their doctors and therapists.  I really like it there.  I have spent 80% of the time going there dealing with my bi polar.  The name is Columbiana County Mental Health.  Excellent place!  Try finding a mental health facility around you.  They can be alot of help.

As foar as friends, you can leave me a message anytime you need to.  It is very important to find a support system to help you.  Even if it is just to vent or tell us something good.  Just write and you will find people who understand what you are going through.

I wish you luck.  Talk to you again soon!

Retail Chains, here in US, have $4 scripts and if your meds are more brand name... ask doc to prescribe you something with a generic that is cheaper

Ask doc for samples and tell him/her of your medication situation... docs can get samples... they may tell you they can't... but, they can.

There are pharmaceutical programs for medication assistance... and that may be what you've applied for and if not... check the pharmaceutical company's website to see if they have a medication assistance program and then apply... your pdoc and/or doc will have to supply some info but it's worth a shot

If you aren't with your local community MH center... check in with them.  They can sometimes come up with medication options or point you in directions.

Not having insurance... not have medication coverage... is a hassle BUT it should not mean you are not able to get your medication.  There are options out there, you just need to ask ask ask ask and be willing to do the legwork.

In the meantime... explain to the doc that you are in a state of suffering with the depression and see if he/her can offer up something in the meantime med wise.

I know how you feel as I have been in that place.  You need to keep living for you!  You may not have realized, but you have more strength than you think.

I am familiar with your area of Ohio since I went to UC, which seems like many, many years ago.

You need to contact the following organizations that I found on the Great United Way of Dayton website.

Day-Mont Behavioral Health Center - daymont.org

They offer mental helth services, individual counseling, case management, etc.  Look them up and call.  Tell them what is going on and this organization should be able to help you.

Suidce Prevention Center - suicidepreventioncenter.tk (this is the correct address)

1-800-320-4357 - they can tell you of support groups and organizations that can help you in Montgomery County.  They will also listen to you if you just need to talk.

I really want you to call these organizations.  I know life can seem hopeless, helpless, but you are worth living for.

You have friends out here that care.
