i have lived with this disorder my whole life and it is finally just started to go away!!:)
older people and all the doctors think it is bipolar but there other people who believe it to be schizophrenia. but my doctor of now thinks it could be schizoaffective. which is both of the two and schizoaffective has two sub-types: bipolar and depression.
my symptoms resembles bipolar it is just like me to have those certain symptoms. and they relate to bipolar.

How is it going away? Anything special you have done? SInce you've lived with this your whole life... why do you think it's going away now? You give us hope.
i have done years of hard work in therapy. i have learned positive self talk and all kinds of other techiques to bring me in full controll of my self(behavior)and my emotions. they helped clear my head. keeps me calm. i stay rational. i feel better. now that i can deal, my symptoms seem to be washing away!
I wish to thank you for making the statement that you have done years of hard work in therapy and have learned techniques to bring yourself in control of your behavior & emotions that can spur the behavior. A lot of folks either self-deny all together or want the quick fix (meds only or self-medicating) of which there truly is none, or give up completely.
Your symptoms, however, by your own words here haven't totally gone.. you just read to seem to have a better sense of what they are & how to deal with them when they occur.. thus, reducing their severity to almost nil.
It doesn't mean the disorder (whichever you may be diagnosed with because you are still diagnosed with a disorder) is totally iradicated. So, you enact your mastery of techniques learned through years of hard work each time.
Stability perhaps at it's best and brings much hope to the rest of us that through hard work, practicing the techniques learned in therapy over and over, and for some... meds with intensive therapy... can bring us to the level of mastery you have been able to achieve to keep your symptoms in check when they occur.
A success story and I'm glad you posted this. It does give me and others, I'm sure, hope.
a lot of people are in denial of their emotions which makes it impoossable to overcome, deal with, and accept their illness.
once you can identify what you are feeling you can change your thinkng which will change your behavior. being in controll of your emotions will in effect controll your behaviors.
i know it works i've done it!
i think everyone should try it
