I strongly disagree with inclusion of this part of our profile. I believe it is futile for patients to compare psychotrophic drugs, each one of us is an individual. This should be a private matter between the patient and his/her medical caretaker. I am in favour of examining scientific analysis of supplementary treatments. What I mean by this is inclusion of benign alternative therapies that are approved by your Psychiatrist which aid in improving the foundational effectiveness of psychotrophic meds and talk therapy.
I was a successful Doctoral student, before I was hit with Bipolar 1 Rapid Cycling Disease. I am extremely fortunate to have found relief after six years of unremitting symptoms. I still struggle with fugue amnesia, likely caused by ECT. I have lost more than five years of my life (as if I were in a coma). I am excited to return to what I love most. I am writing published articles and studying new ways of improving the quality of life of Bipolar patients. A book on the depths of Yoga philosophy, therapy and spirituality is forthcoming.
