Good luck with the interview and I am sure you will do well. There is no better feeling inside than that of helping others that are less fortunate.

    Greetings,

When I read your post, I couldn't help but think about my life and where I am at with my bipolar disorder.  I just received invaluable training on how to empower myself, while helping others at the same time.  Next, I will be taking the PET training - Peer Employment Training - which will prepare me to become a peer advocate, helping other people with mental illness diagnoses to help themselves.

I get so excited when I hear from others who also have this opportunity.  I hope we can continue to diaglogue on our experiences as peer support specialists.  For every bit of wisdom we impart, we gain that much more knowledge for ourselves.

Keep us posted on your experiences!  I've got about three weeks worth of training to go, and if all goes well, I may be getting paid - Yes - you read that right!  I may get paid to do this advocacy.  It is so cool to love what you do and to help others who need uplifting.
