About Me

I am a teacher, a wife, and a mom to two teenagers.  I have a daughter who's 19 and a son who's 15.  My son recently had a depressive episode and wound up in the hospital.  We have him home now and he's doing much better, but I am worried about the future with him.  I didn't know he was depressed until everything came to a head and he attempted suicide.  When he finally opened up, everyone realized he'd been depressed for quite some time.  We are working through his anger and depression problems and trying to understand how much we can really expect of him right now.  We are also realizing that we missed so many signs and do not wish for this to ever happen again.
