I've been on Lamictal and I am experiencing vision changes. This bothers me the most. I like to read and my eyes have always been good. Family tells me I'm getting old, but it started when I started with L. Fatique and clumsiness are also a problem for me. I don't remember myself as tired nor clumsy. I prided myself on my balance and ability to enjoy being active. Now I get close to falling over myself and get tired during walks.

On the positive my mood is stabilized. But not being able to read really really bothers me.

In rare cases even carbamezapine can cause Stevens-Johnson syndorm.  Everyone focuses on the Aplastic Anemia side affect of Tegretol but of course Aplastic Anemia WILL kill you where Stevens-Johnson syndrom CAN kill you.  Lovely choices in meds we have here.  Of course, bi-polar disorder can kill you as well.  But everyone dies of something.  No one gets out of this life alive.  Good thing you went to the ER.  (Sounded like shingles when I first started to read your post)
