Abilify side effects

By Amy T Tuesday, May 27, 2008

I am having some odd side effects from Abilify.  My jaw is constantly clenched, I'm grinding my teeth and can't sit still.  Needless to say, this is very annoying.  Has anyone out there had these problems with Abilify?

Amy, you're not crazy.  I have been on Abilify for five weeks and I'm just now starting to notice I clench my teeth a lot without realizing.  Or grind them.  It's kind of disconcerting, huh?

same thing stop the meds it is not worth it, you will end up with Tardiskia dyskentia did not spell it right but you can't get rid off it, and it's no treatment or cure life is over once you get it! trust me

I have not been able to sit still or stop moving my hands for the four weeks I have been on Abilify.  It's awful.  I totally hear ya.  I also can't seem to stop moving my hands.  You're not crazy.

My significant other had been taking a very small dose for maybe a couple months.  It has been a disaster.  Irresistible impulses to move his head and legs, pacing, very deep depression, severe  anxiety, irritability, severe confusion (he became frantic when he had no idea what year it is, guessed it was 2004), complete inability to concentrate.  He stopped a week ago with his psychiatrist's permission and the side effects have not lessened at all.  His life is hell.  I know he will do something drastic if things don't get better.  I have read some places it never does.  If he doesn't get better, his life is ruined.  This is way, way worse than his Bipolar II ever was.  I am hysterical, don't know what to do.

o my god, the doctors do this to their patients and not care, he probably have TD and your right his life is over, check for diabetes too! doctors really don't care about the side effects because they don't have to live with them, i rather be manic or depressed then to have parts of my body move by it's self especial my mouth. i am so sorry, but i was smart enough to read up and stop those meds, but i did end up with diabetes which is why i stop trusting the doctors. I take meds as needed the way they are supposed to be taken!

watch out sounds bad yes i had those side effects with other meds, your at risk for TD which is permanant get to your doctor quick or take some cogentic, bendryl or sominex all will stop the side effect. but consult your doctor first  but be prepared they are not going to  be honest with you thats how i ended up with diabetes!
