I believe my partner is bipolar but he is absolutely unwilling to hear it.  His mom is on lithium and wellbutrin and she is clearly bp.  His behavior fits everything I've read: irritable, angry over the slightest thing, spends money excessively (though he recently quit his job), blames me for all his unhappiness, self-grandizing talk.  Tonight he broke his cell phone and when I tried to show concern he shot down every suggestion until the conversation became tense and he could blame me for everything that is going wrong in his life.  The slightest disappointment in his day becomes a tragedy and he is sure that it's my fault.  He doesn't think anything is wrong and he absolutely refuses medication.

I love him.  How can I get him to acknowledge his behavior and get treatment?
