I actually bought that book for my step-dad to read because his kids were "perfect" and he was always arguing with my mom about me.. (they are in the process of getting a divorce.. he was just mentally abusive and although no one liked him, he thought it was everybody else.) But the point is, he had NO CLUE what it was like living with someone with BP. I was 21 when they got married and he thought my parents didn't raise me right and that I was spoiled, which is definately not true.. I have wonderful parents. My mom is so supportive and is my best friend.. I am very lucky to have her. But I bought the book and read it before I was going to try to get him to, which he never did, and found it very educating, with tips and advice on everything from the mood swings to meds, your loved ones and how to "educate" them to how to file for disability. I would definately recommend it!
