Hi I have just found an interesting trigger !!!!, and I am not sure how to control this one. How I discovered it was due to the fact that I went through a complete cycle in 12 days, Mania followed by a crash. Luckly my medication has been able control the situation such that no major damage...

My partners Pdoc says he can learn to reign in his moods by practise regulating his thoughts..catch them, control them.  It works most of the time but we still have episodes. Falling in love makes anyone feel high, even non BP's and it is makes perfect sense that this feeling would trigger mania in someone with BP.  Not sure what you do about it but you already have your answer....you have to cool it for a while or she will run! Get back into a more settled frame of mind before you try again. Then, go in knowing this is a trigger and try to reign it in. ( The Bipolar Workbook has ideas on how to do this.) Best wishes Rusty

I have read Julie Fast's book "Loving Someone With Bipolar Disorder" her strategies and treatment plan seem logical and worth giving it a shot. Good luck...I hope your re-relationship is a success story.
